Well, it’s been about a month since the elections, and don’t you miss those helpful negative political ads? Hopefully you’ve noticed the sarcasm. I don’t care which political party you associate yourself with—these ads are harmful to the democratic foundation of our country.

This past Thanksgiving, I sat down with my Grandpa Rick and asked him what kind of advice he could give to me and my generation. He grew up the youngest of six in a small St. Paul house during the Depression era. Later, he went on to serve as a GMC2 gunner in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

The inconsistency of Planned Parenthood

Recently, Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion organizations have been taking aim at crisis pregnancy centers. These attacks are quite upsetting, because they are deceptive and unmistakably intended to draw women away from alternatives to abortion.

Get into the best physical shape of your life? Find some of the best friends one could ever imagine? Have a guaranteed and possibly considerably well-paying job after college graduation?

If someone would have told me, only a year ago, that any of these things were possible, I would have laughed in disbelief. Opportunities this good just cannot be true; It’s simply impossible. However, here I stand today, living out that “too good to be true” life.

So, Anthony, what made you decide to coach hockey after college?
I had played semi-pros in a Holland Elite League and for the Amsterdam Tijgers. I had been playing hockey for 20 years and I just decided that I wasn’t going to continue playing, but I wanted to give back to the game of hockey. I get so much back from it. When you tell a young player to try this or try that, and next time they’re out there they do it…and you see them improving. I probably play more through them by being their coach and by seeing them grow into young men.

The November general elections this year brought change in control among both houses of Congress. In a recent Washington Post article discussing the elections, former Howard Dean campaign manager, Joe Trippi, remarked, “Wham! The 2006 midterm elections are over and the modern conservative era has come to an end.” To which I reply, “Really, Mr. Trippi?”

I didn’t say “Happy Holidays,” and I didn’t say “Season’s Greetings!” Christmastime is here and the reason for the season is not that there’s snow on the ground, festive lights on your house, carolers singing at your front door, and Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer’s nose is glowing bright.
