Ann Coulter is coming!

Outspoken conservative pundit Ann Coulter will speak in a rare free event on campus on Monday, April 18, 2005.

                This is a must-see event for conservatives and liberals alike.  Ms. Coulter is a witty and passionate  speaker—extremely popular on college campuses across the nation.  In a speech at the Conservative Women’s Network on June 5, 2000, Coulter stated: “I love speaking on college campuses.  The environments are so hegemonically left-wing that any students who bring me to speak are invariably the rebels.  They’re always bright, politically active, and appear to wake up every morning thinking: What can I do today to annoy liberals?  Apparently, bringing me to speak is one of the popular options.”

                Ann Coulter is the author of four New York Times best-sellers, including High Crimes and Misdemeanors: The Case Against Bill Clinton, Slander: Liberal Lies about the American Right, and Treason: Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism.  Her latest work is How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must): The World According to Ann Coulter.

University of Michigan Law School and has practiced law irn a variety of areas, from private practice in New York City, to the Senate Judiciary Committee.  She is currently the legal correspondent for Human Events and a popular syndicated columnist.

Ms. Coulter has frequently appeared on numerous television shows like The O’Reilly Factor, Larry King Live, Politically Incorrect, Hannity and Colmes, Good Morning America, Crossfire, and ABC’s This Week.   Ann Coulter was distinguished as one of the top 100 Public Intellectuals by federal judge Richard Posner in 2001. 

Ms. Coulter’s talk is presented by the St. Thomas Standard, the St. Thomas Chapter of College Republicans and the Young America’s Foundation (YAF).

YAF is the key outreach organization of the Conservative Movement.  It  educates thousands of students on the ideas of individual freedom, a strong national defense, free enterprise, and traditional values. YAF offers conferences, educational materials, internships and speakers to young people throughout the United States.

Additionally, as its website attests, YAF “stepped in to save President Reagan’s Western White House, Rancho del Cielo, in the spring of 1998 to preserve it as a living monument to Reagan’s legacy and to make it the centerpiece of the Presidential Leadership Program.”

Ann Coulter’s speech—which is open to the public—will take place at 12:30 p.m. in O’Shaughnessy Educational Center Auditorium.  The title of Ms. Coulter’s speech will be: Liberal Lies About the American Right.  Following her speech, she will take questions from the audience.
