Note from the Editor

by Amie Kieffer

It's the end of the year and most of you are probably patting yourselves on the back and silently or not so silently screaming exclamations of joy and excitement for the summer. Even if you are going to be working, taking a summer class or two, or both-summer is summer and you would have a hard time finding a Minnesotan who is not excited for welcoming in some warm weather, lots of green, and plenty of sun.

In this final issue we have quite a variety of topics covered. Each individual gladly and openly shares their opinion in their own style-bringing a bouquet of May flowering opinions. We hope that these articles start intellectual conversations, debates, and thoughts among our readers.

From Katherine Konrad's review and reflections on The Secret to Madison Chambers' experience writing an opinion paper to Ryan Kieffer's thoughts on our tax system-you will hopefully find something that resonates with your own ideas or reversely makes you think about writing into the editor or going to our website to share your own idea on the issue!

Whether you disagree or agree with the positions we would love to hear back from you and hope that you are able to take a look at the St. Thomas Standard's new website, where you will find the archives this paper has produced over the past four years of its existence!

So, go to StThomasStandard.org and find how you can get involved, comment on articles, and discover the past and present of this independent student news paper-dedicated to exploring a wide range of conservative view points in the interest of spurring intellectual debates among college students.

I hope you enjoy this edition of the St. Thomas Standard and I wish you the best of luck on concluding your studies, continuing them, and on all your plans for this summer! Congratulations class of 2007, the St. Thomas Standard wishes you all the very best.
